Joseph Gerard, 90, of Bloomfield, passed away Tuesday March 2, 2010.
Born in Newark to the late Pasquale and Carmela (Muselli), He has lived in Bloomfield for many years.
Mr. Gerard was a chemist and managed a tea plantation in Kenya for the Tetley Tea Corp. for 6 years, then was employed at Tetley Tea in Morristown retiring in 1989. He served in the United States Army during World War 2 attaining the rank of Sergeant. During the depression he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in Oregon and Washington State. He traveled around the world twice. Mr. Gerard is survived by his uncle Fred Muselli Sr., and his nieces and nephews, Carol Lombardi, John Muselli, Fred Muselli Jr., Charlene Bidwell, Ronald Gasalberti, Geneva Landolfi, Camille Marsessa, Jeanette Muselli, Louis Mattina, and Joann Malang.
In lieu of flowers, donation s may be made to the Reformed Church Home 1990 Route 18 North Old Bridge, NJ 08857.
